The fourth regional meeting of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Europe that concluded on Sunday in Paris, France, decided to mark October 11 as the NRN Day.
Keeping in view the ‘Tourism Year 2011′ being promoted by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), the NRNA agreed to observe October 11 as the NRN Day, a press statement issued by the NRNA secretariat, Nepal, said.
Chief patron of NRNA, Dr. Upendra Mahato, NRNA chairperson Devman Hirachan, Nepal’s envoys to France and Germany, Mohan Krishna Shrestha and Suresh Pradhan respectively, and the deputy mayor of Kunarb Metropolitan city, Danida Henley, jointly inaugurated the regional meeting Saturday.
Speaking at the programme, Hirachan said the association has taken the latest political developments seen in Nepal seriously.
“We decided to hold the NRN convention in the United States of America to mark the day of declaration of the new constitution in Nepal” he recalled, “However, we had to change the decision.” The NRN meet also decided to ask all its braches across the world to make the year 2011 total success by promoting tourism in Nepal.
Various key papers on role and need of NRN investment in Nepal and dual citizenship status for non-resident Nepali were presented during the convention, the statement said.
The conference also decided to hold the next regional in Moscow, Russia. nepalnews.com
